Terms draft

Plain terms. Fewer interpretive dance moves.

This draft sets out the intended service, account, billing, acceptable-use, and change-management boundaries for PasteToType. It remains subject to attorney review and jurisdiction-specific completion.

Draft for legal review

This working draft reflects the current PasteToType product design. It is not a final legal policy and must be reviewed by qualified counsel before it becomes legally operative.

1. Agreement and service status

These draft terms would govern access to PasteToType when finalized by [legal entity name]. The service includes current account and billing foundations and may introduce browser, operating-system, storage, and SmartClean features over time. A feature is available only when PasteToType expressly identifies it as released for the relevant client or account.

2. Free activation and accounts

Free activation uses a time-limited verification link for the browser-first, local plain-text experience. It is not a paid subscription and does not make ordinary local capture or insert work dependent on a paid account. Users who choose a paid plan are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account access and for activity performed through their account, subject to applicable law. Users must provide accurate account information and promptly notify PasteToType of suspected unauthorized access.

3. Subscriptions, purchases, and Founder schedules

Subscriptions and eligible one-time purchases are processed through Stripe Checkout and the Stripe customer portal. Current public plan prices are shown at checkout and on the pricing page. Founder Schedule V1, if and when enrollment is made available, is versioned for accounts that enroll under it; a later founder schedule does not retroactively alter V1 terms. Credit Packs and storage add-ons are separate products with their own stated scope.

4. Cancellations and refunds

Users may manage eligible subscriptions through the billing portal. Cancellation, refund, tax, chargeback, and renewal treatment must be completed in the final terms in accordance with checkout disclosures, payment-provider rules, and applicable law. This draft does not create a refund promise beyond rights that cannot be excluded by law.

5. Acceptable use

Users may not use PasteToType to violate law, infringe rights, transmit harmful code, interfere with the service, circumvent access controls, remove visible creator ownership, evade content detectors, or obtain undisclosed rewriting decisions. SmartClean requests are subject to customer authorization and service controls.

6. User content and feedback

Users retain rights in content they provide, subject to the limited permissions reasonably necessary to operate requested features. Users represent that they have the rights required to submit content. Feedback may be used to improve the service without obligation, subject to applicable law.

7. Availability and changes

PasteToType may modify, suspend, or discontinue portions of the service, subject to applicable law and any mandatory notice obligations. The service is provided on an evolving basis and may contain defects, interruptions, or changed capability boundaries. Nothing in these draft terms promises uninterrupted availability or a future feature by a particular date.

8. Disclaimers, liability, and disputes

Final terms must include counsel-reviewed warranty disclaimers, limitation-of-liability language, indemnity provisions, governing law, venue or arbitration terms, and mandatory consumer-rights carve-outs appropriate to the jurisdictions where the service is offered. Those provisions are intentionally not finalized in this draft.

9. Contact and changes to these terms

Before publication, PasteToType will supply a legal notice address and contact method. Material changes should carry a clear effective date and notice process where required.
